Not long ago I made a playlist that was inspired by a Ruby Rose photo, and if you follow me or even if you don’t, you might know that I did mention I was working on another playlist at the same time. Well that second playlist didn’t quite turn out the way I was hoping it would, but never mind, because Ruby Rose did inspire me to collect another set of songs in spite of everything.
You see the thing is I got this daily planner as a present a few weeks ago and you know how forgetful I can be, so gifting me a planner makes perfect sense, but being the forgetful banana I am, it just happens that I always forget to use the planners I am regularly handed, so why anyone assumed yet another one would make a difference in any way is beyond me.
So to give purpose to the one I have now, I decided to turn it into an experience journal instead of just adding stuff to it that I won’t remember anyway. The challenge works like this: each week I come up with a bucket list of adventures that I have to complete no matter what. This is in order to occupy myself with stuff that matters and makes sense, rather than doing stuff that doesn’t and would only make my life feel desperately pointless. (Which it often feels like bucket list or not.)
I tried to pick things that were easy to realize because I was 100% sure I wouldn’t go climb the Mount Everest just because some silly inspirational quote in my journal claims that everything is possible, so now I have a list of attainable goals that I am adamantly trying to attain. And all that brings us to this playlist. Because you see, today’s challenge says I have to write a fan letter to a celebrity. I'm not sure it also says I gotta do it in public, but I couldn't find a better way, so…*takes a deep breath*:
Dear Ruby Rose,
I am a huge fan, but that is rather obvious otherwise I probably wouldn’t write a fan letter to you. So I’m just writing to say that I really liked you in The Meg and also in Orange is the New Black and then in Pitch Perfect 3 and then there was that John Wick movie, not to mention Resident Evil and Xander Cage. Oh and the fake Tourism Australia: Dundee trailer was funny and it made me want to move to Australia. By the way, I was totally not binge watching those said productions for weeks. Also, I think it is great that you were cast as Batwoman and I wish you lots of fun with the role, I suppose it really suits your personality. I saw your scenes in Elseworlds and you were super badass.
Thank you for visiting Hungary not long ago, and for raising awareness of the terrible conditions of our current health care system. I have a friend who works as a nurse at a local hospital and she told me the situation they face on a daily basis is quite desperate.
But enough of the negatives, I do have a very serious question, because the strangest thing has happened to me and I need to sort this out. Did you dye your hair blonde before or after leaving Hungary? You see what happened was I saw a girl on a public bus at the time when I knew you were filming in Hungary, and that girl stood right next to me and looked exactly like you and I was too confused to ask, but I was like: that girl is Ruby Rose…Except she is blonde, so it can’t be her.
And I was thinking to myself that if I see you posting blonde photos of yourself next time on Instagram I will know I was right. But then I was like, that is so silly, and it clearly wasn't you and I should really stop following Instagram accounts of people I will never meet. And then a week later you posted photos of your new, blonde hair color... So please tell me you dyed your hair much later and I didn’t miss my only freaking chance of meeting you the one and probably last time you were in Hungary.
Finally, as this has turned into a rather long post, I hope you like the playlist I put together here. For me these songs are very much about being brave and assertive and free and pursuing your dreams no matter what the circumstances are. I believe that sort of message expresses your true character very well.
So good luck to you on your journey and keep being the amazing person you are.
