6 PIN UP looks for BEGINNERS ( QUICK and EASY VINTAGE/ RETRO hairstyles) - Vintagious

08:23
It's mainly about the front section of your hair in this video, but then some about the sides, some about accessories, some about the back, okay, so its about all of your hair BUT whatever, the styles are easily acheiveable, require little skill ad are uber quick to do. I think, and hey, it's only my opinion but, I think they give an INSTANT pin up look. So, if you are just trying out a new pin up or vintage look and are still trying to get to grips with the, let's face it, relatively complicated hairstyling then this might be the video for you. How to GIBSON girl Hair EDWARDIAN/ VICTORIAN vintage RETRO Hairstyle tutorial - Vintagious

inspired by : https://twitter.com/oakoscar100/status/226029911645773825/photo/1 This was a requested style that I thougth would be really tricky, but, actually it really isn't. You have to get to gripos with rolling your hair but, once you've got that then your flying! This is a super-cute romantic look that looks awesome with off-the shoulder dresses. It would work really well with a Grecian style outfit too I think. Let me know if you try it! I love to hear from you all. ALSO I have just set up a twitter and facebook account so, if you are into all of that then add me. Dare I say, at a push this could be a bridal style, imagine with delicate little flowers placed around the central bun - beautiful! Music by Kevin Macleod

04:51
instagram - http://instagram.com/natalie_vintagious Waaaaaaahh! Like, WAAAAHHH. I cannot beliveve that FINALLY I am uploading a video. You know when the whole world just gets in the way of everything you want to do? Well, yeah, that. Bleurgh. My laptop got a virus that wiped ALL files, which then spread to my external hard drive BOO. I downloaded the new version of my old editing software - Videopad. It had totally changed and turned from something usfull into something that made me want to claw my own eyes out. I bought Sony vegas Pro, which seems good but it is NOT a walk in the park to work it out, oh no siree. I can't do subtitles, titles, overlays - nuthin' I'm rubbish at it but, I have been trying to edit this for days now and the more I watch it , the less confident I get about it so I have just got to get it up here because otherwise it's going to go into the recycling bin and that;s just a ridiculous waste of time This video contains the most simple & easy hairdos, meant to be done when you are in a super rush in the morning but still need that 'vintage feel'. You may have seen it all before, but, maybe not so, yeah, hope you like it! Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right? Welcome to Vintagious, here, in my own litttle corner of Youtube I will show you how to create beautiful hairstyles from all eras. Sure, my main focus is on simple vintage hairstyling but I also love easy modern styles. I don't have a favourite era, it changes all the time. One day it'll be Edwardian hairstyles that I'm all over, the next, pinup girl hair, the next I'll be all about Greek Goddesses and their crazy Barnets! I just love it all! I do hope that you enjoy my videos and that you can learn something from them, even just a tiny bit - and, even if you learn nothing I hope that they make you smile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OV0jFweiHuY

HOW TO roll VICTORY ROLLS 6 DIFFERENT ways - Vintagious

10:28
http://www.twitter.com/oakoscar100 www.facebook.com/https://www.facebook.com/pages/Natalie-oakoscar100/177520052381134 www.instagram.com/natalie_vintagious When I first started doing my hair in vintage styles I couldn't roll a victory roll for toffee. It was VERY frustrating because the V roll is so intrinsic to many vintage hair dos. As with many things I learnt that there is not just one way to roll but a whole plethora of ways to get your hair into a way that looks pretty much authentic. Still today, after many years of doing my hair this way I sometimes cant get it right the first time and need to employ a different technique to get the look that I want. I've worked out that I usually roll 1 of 6 different ways and I have filmed them today for you just in case you haven't seen some of them before. Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right? Classic PInup Bumper Bangs & Victory Rolls tutorial - Vintagious

05:19
This is such a great look for a the classic pinup style. Not only is is super versatile (you can wear the back in so many different ways to make the style suit different occasions) but it looks really tricky to achieve and is actually REALLY simple. Yes, there are Victory rolls but they don't have to be anything special because you are covering the front of them with your bumper bang and the bang itself is made with a filler so easy peasy lemon sqeezy all in all. I hope you like it! Don't forget to come & join me over at facebook and instagram natalie_vintagious Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right? Pin Up Ponytail - Easy & Practical Vintage Hairstyle

06:20
Sometimes you just need to have your hair OFF of your face and secured out of the way. I find this hairstyle, or a variant of it to be really perfect for these occasions. I would say that I wear this look 3 days out of 7. Great for work, running around, even going to the gym. Its a great option for many days - especially here in the UK now, rainy rain rain - can't make you look frizzy if your hair's all pulled back - haha! Up yours wintery weather! Glam up for a night out with accessories, or clip in extensions - really versatile and coolio. Like I said at the end of the vid I am also on facebook, twitter and Instagram so if you are down with all that kinda stuff then come and join me there!! EASY PINUP hairstyle side roll VINTAGE RETRO updo

06:13
Does the lighting make a difference? better huh? Almost blew my house up when I turned all of them on - so much so that a fuse blew in one set and this video was filmed with only 2 outta 3 lights. I think with a bit of jiggery-pokery and extension leads from upstairs, with all 3 lights on we're gonna rock it! Totes rocked this at my cousins wedding last week, it stayed in the WHOLE time and had added bonus of leaving me with nice big sexy curls when I took it down, so what if it wa dark, no one saw and I just went straight to bed - I KNEW they were there. You can stick so many flowers etc into this style it's unreal or you can just leave as is which I think makes just as much of a statement. You could wera this smrt or funky, it's really up to you. Great for numerous occassions I would say. Let me tell you though. You are going to feel nothing but PIN UP in it so everyone else better watch out! Let me know if you try it chicas! How to EDWARDIAN 'Psyche knot' Hair Tutorial (1900's 1910's hairstyle ) - Vintagious

09:05
** Please expand this box ** This is a hairstyle commonly worn in the late Edwardian period. I found these authentic instructions from 1911 online http://frazzledfrau.tripod.com/titanic/psyche.htm I think it is a really feminine and romantic looking hairstyle and with a bit of tweaking there is no reason why it wouldn't be perfectly acceptable to wear it today. Especially with the revival of all things of this era thanks to the popularity of Downton Abbey! Fancy dress or everyday I think this is a real head turner. I love it. It's so simple too and can be decorated with loads of different types of accessories. I had to make do with this small silky rose because my daughter hordes all my hair flowers, a bigger one would have been better. Also, online you can get some nice tortoiseshell style clips and pins which really were the height of elegance and fashion at the time. Hope you like it! Let me know in the comments section if you try it and remember - HIT the like button for more similar styles!

Authentic Vintage Girls Hairstyles - Vintagious

04:53
Just as today it is frowned upon to dress your little girl up as a adult It was just the same in the 1940's and 1950's and as much as we may think victory rolls and pomps are cute in our little ones hair they were considered too 'grown up' for girls to wear in the past. There were a few preferred hairstyles for the under tens and in this video I show you a few. they are super simple and really cute. I hope you and your girls enjoy them. Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right? FUN way to GET RID of BLACKHEADS (DIY Biore face strips) -Vintagious

05:04
Hiya! Welcome to What Would Marilyn Do? on VINTAGIOUS This is definitely fun and effective too! My skin felt uber soft and clear after this mask I found it easier to apply make up and felt that overall my skin had a nicer texture. If you are allergic to either milk or gelatine then PLEASE DO NOT use this face mask but just share it with your friends. If you are vegetarian or vegan then you may want to try Pectin instead of gelatine. I haven't tried it but, it could work - kinda wish i had thought of it before but, hey! Never mind. Keep an eye on the time. DO NOT let this dry too hard it will be a PAIN in the ASS to get off. The mask should come off as easily as it does in the video. If it hurts too much then wash it off. Do not continue to pull off the mask. Other than that - ENJOY!! why I LOVE my HALF MOON bangs & HOW TO cut them (half moon fringe tutorial) - Vintagious Vlogs

06:43
I am a real terror when it comes to fringes, cut, grow, cut, grow, cut, grow, the cycle never seems to stop. I'm never happy. I cut cute Bettie bangs and LOVE them but then yearn for flowing 70's style locks. I get my boho tresses and then almost immediately chop them back above my eyebrows cos boho just 'aint pinup enough. It's a struggle. Not a life and death struggle, no. Still a struggle though. Now I feel I have found a happy medium. The half moon. Short enough to be curled up to emulate a Bettie yet long enough at the sides to be swept up into any style that takes my fancy. I think I have found my dream fringe. What do you think? EDWARDIAN style HAIR Gaijin Geisha Evelyn Nesbit Inspired tutorial

06:50
Inspired by the photo 'Gaijin Geisha' showing the beautiful Evelyn Nesbit nonchalantly staring down the camera lens dressed in a kimono with geisha style hair ornaments. Some say she was the Courtney Stodden of her day, I say she was the first supermodel and the original Gibson Girl - I love her look! I hope you like this 'inspired by' do. I thought it was a really pretty hairdo for spring what with the pretty cherry blossom as an accessory. Obviously go lighter on the ornaments if you wish or, indeed, stick more in if you are that way inclined! Fun fun fun! The artificial cherry blossom came in a big bunch from Ebay and I just chopped it down, stripped the wire and shoved it in! The chopsticks come from eBay too - from this lovely lady http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/chosenbyscarletbrooks Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right? 9 WAYS to wear a HAIR SCARF (vintage retro turban headwrap) - VINTAGIOUS

07:58
I love headscarves. They are a saviour on dodgy hair days. I highly suggest not using a slippery scarf like the one I use in the video. It makes it terribly hard to style. A raw silk or cotton scarf I think would be ideal Check out leaf.tv to see where I saw the 3 styles using the folded scarf first. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoH-bH... Well jel of their camera! Love the use of depth of field in their videos that give a really 'advert' quality feel to everything. Well done them! I'm going to list each style and where it starts in the video here so, you can skip through if you want to. That's why I gave each style a name in case you wee wondering, 1) Protect & Serve : 0:18 2) Queenie wrap : 1:10 3) Lovely Land Girl : 2:16 4) Boho Beauty 3:05 5) The Gatsby 3:50 6) Simple wrap 5:08 7) Casbah chic 5:31 8) Beatnik Betty 6:06 9) 40's Turban 6:29 Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right? How I do a FOAM ROLLER set & BRUSH OUT for VINTAGE PINUP curls

11:45
A few people asked how I get my vintage curls and this is it! I used to be a devotee of the pin curl but recently tried out foam rollers and I am IN LOVE. They give such a smooth curl (with the aid of Lottabody setting lotion). They are easy to put in, easy to take out - cheap, OKAY to sleep in (read - you have to get used to it but it's OKAY) You are not going to look particularly sexy when you've got the in that's for sure but boy do they work! The curls hold for such a long time, and you are abl;e to style your hair in many different ways as the curl drops out day by day, If you want to leave the curls that is. It is also really easy to re-roll of an evening should you want a tight set again on days 2, 3 & 4 - Give them a go if you haven't already. Just make sure you have bought enough if you have long or thick hair. Some girls are able to just use 8 or 10 but you may find you need 20 -30. It all depends. Let me know how it goes ladies xx Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right? It doesn't take much to give you a really nice vintage look to your hair, which then in turn can give a vintage style to your whole outfit. A couple of pin-curls here and there really are MAGIC! How To EASY double VICTORY ROLL updo RETRO pinup VINTAGE hairstyle - Vintagious

05:48
Victory Rolls are a hard beast to master there's no denying it! If they don't go right it is SUPER frustrating, believe me - I know. I am quite sure that I am not the first person to roll in this fashion but AS YET I have not seen a video that explains the method in this way so I thought I would upload in case anyone could benefit from it. Victory rolls form the basis of many 40's and 50's hairstyles and once you have them down pat you are able to create all kinds of styles ranging from classic 1940's style elegant updos to more full on, big ole' rockabilly rolls, if you are going for that modern Pin up look. This way of rolling is not the 'be all and end all' there are certainly other ways of doing it but this is the way that has worked best for me over the years and if it helps you to move forward in your styling then that's brilliant!

Easy Pin Up Hairstyle : Vintage scarf roll updo - Vintagious

04:43
This hairstyle takes about 5 minutes at the most and is great when you have no time to curl your hair, need it off your face or just want a vintage updo. Can be dressed up with different types of scarfs and flowers, if you think the bow is too 'cutesy' then tuck the ends in. Have a victory roll at the front, bettie bangs, bumper bangs, barrel rolls - whatever you like . Totes versatile! The 'Rosie' is a really popular look for those going for a retro feel to their style. I know there are already many MANY tutorials on how to achieve the look here on Youtube BUT I think I have found a really cool way of getting the look that is really easy and super effective. Great style if your hair isn't doing what it's told - is inbetween washes or is really fuzzy. No need for loads of products or time becausethe scarf hides A LOT of sins. AWESOME for fancy dress parties too or just beilliant if you want to add something a little different to your everyday style HOPE you like it! Music: Happy Alley by Kevin Macleod
