Forehand Topspin Against Backspin | Table Tennis | PingSkills

03:36
http://www.PingSkills.com - Table Tennis Secrets Revealed In this video we teach you how to play the forehand topspin against a backspin ball. This stroke is very similar to the forehand topspin against block. The main differences are that you start a little bit lower, finish a little bit higher, and the stroke itself is more vertical to lift the backspin. You still need a good brushing contact to generate the topspin. If you have any questions about this stroke then please visit our website and use the ask the coach section. Thanks for watching! Help Against a Chopper | Table Tennis | PingSkills

02:06
http://www.PingSkills.com - Ask the Coach Subscribe to our YouTube channel - http://bit.ly/SubscribePingSkills Hi Coach, I am an offensive player having trouble with a chopper with long pimples. I can sometimes return his chops with loops, but I am not very consistent. Are there any other options when I receive a chop that is deep on the table or should I just work on improving my backhand and forehand loops? I saw your video on the drop shot when the chops are shorter and will try to work on that shot. Thanks, Paul

Breaking Bad Footwork Habits | Table Tennis | PingSkills

02:13
http://www.PingSkills.com - Ask the Coach Here's a question from a PingSkiller: Many of us older average players came to the "real" game after decades of "garage" table tennis, and don't move naturally the way kids who learned skills from the beginning do. In the heat of games we continue the lunging, off-balance stuff--even though we don't want to. It's a little like a hesitant ballroom dancer, who just can't catch the beat and get going. What can I do to "unstick" legs unaccustomed to bouncing sideways and facing the ball? In this video we answer that great question. Thanks for watching! Attacking Short Balls in Table Tennis

02:02
http://www.PingSkills.com - Ask the Coach Francisco asked how to attack a serve where the second bounce is near the end of the table. If the ball is high enough, you can play a topspin stroke with your forehand but it is difficult because you can't take a big swing at the ball. Nowadays a lot of players are attacking this type of ball with the backhand sidespin flick. With this stroke you can use a lot of wrist and generate a lot of speed with your bat right over the table. Returning a Heavy Backspin Serve | Table Tennis | PingSkills

02:54
http://www.PingSkills.com - Ask the Coach Subscribe to our YouTube channel - http://bit.ly/SubscribePingSkills I've been having trouble returning a short heavy sidespin and backspin service from a player who likes to place it to my backhand. When I tried pushing it short to his backhand or forehand, he would flick it back and end up winning the point. He is also very proficient at looping on both sides so pushing it long is out of the question. I've tried to banana flick (backhand sidespin flick) but the ball would go into the net since the backspin was so heavy and the ball was so low. He told me that I should try to contact the ball (when performing the banana flick) on the side to generate the sidespin and avoid the heavy backspin but I don't see how the physics would work in returning it? Is this the correct method to perform the flick against heavy underspin? Below are some other videos we've made. Feel free to check 'em out! Forehand Chop | Table Tennis | PingSkills

03:13
http://www.PingSkills.com - Forehand Chop The forehand chop is a defensive stroke in table tennis where you impart backspin on the ball to make it hard for your opponent to attack. You use this shot when you are back away from the table and your opponent has played a topspin stroke. The key points are to stand slightly side on, start at around head height, and finish down around knee height. Enjoy the tutorial. Music: World Map by Jason Farnham from the YouTube Audio Library. http://www.PingSkills.com - How to handle sidespin during a table tennis rally. We might be used to returning sidespin serves but during a rally it is less common to come across but it's an important skill to know. You can either use a controlled shot and angle your bat to counter the sidespin, or you can be more attacking and brush the ball generating your own spin and hence negating the sidespin. Service Tactics | Table Tennis | PingSkills

02:50
http://www.PingSkills.com - Service Tactics Having a good serve is not enough. You need to find a serve that troubles your opponent. One opponent might find your pendulum serve difficult to return, and another might find it easy. Remember to find out the serves that trouble each opponent. Another key to a good service is the ability to vary the spin, speed, and placement. And in fact you might find that some players returns the same serve well from the forehand side but poorly from the backhand side. And lastly, if you find a serve that your opponent doesn't like, use it often so you can win the match more easily. Sometimes people try to save good serves until it gets close but by then it might be too late! Good luck with your serving. Thanks for watching! Bat Angles & Swing For The Forehand Topspin | Table Tennis | PingSkills

02:26
http://www.PingSkills.com - Ask the Coach I have seen professional players swing their bat across their body instead of a normal follow through. In your videos you have told me not to follow through with the bat across your body. Can you tell me the purpose and advantages of such a follow through on the forehand?

Improve Your Switching | PingSkills | Table Tennis

http://www.PingSkills.com - Ask the Coach Nicolas asked "Hey pingskills, what kind of drill can I simulate to practice the speed of my transition between backhand and forehand? I need it as I occasionally receive sudden attack to my backhand in a forehand to forehand rally. When I receive a sudden attack my block become overly stiff, catapulting the ball out of the table, any ideas also how to fix that problem?" It's a great question and a skill you should develop since table tennis is such a fast moving game and you will need to be able to switch between your backhand and forehand well to increase your level of play.
