Today, the Sea of Thieves Content Plans / Roadmap were revealed. The announced updates include new enemies, new ships, events, new items and more. http://bit.ly/2hjNaPT In this video, we will be talking about the new SoT features in detail and what some things could possibly hint at (mermaids?) as well as what this content plans means for the future of Sea of Thieves. Due to all these new things, some other features such as pets and ship captaincy will be postponed, effectively delaying the addition of microtransaction into the game. Instead, there will be multiple events called "The hungering deep", "Cursed Sails" and "Forsaken Shores".

Honestly, what i would like to see are imperial convoys. The imperial convoys will be large ships a bit smaller than a galleon that carry loot from one place to another. At the outposts, there should be a list of imperial convoys with maps, times and dates. You can intercept said convoys and take the loot that they are carrying with them. These convoys will have some protection varying from cannons manned by imperial soldiers to small escorts of smaller ships. The more loot the convoys will be carrying, the stronger the escort. That's one thing i would like to see in the game.
Still waiting for that proper player progression. Cosmetics alone just isn't interesting enough to keep players invested, at least not for me.
But its probably hard to implement that into the game at this point when the game is already out.
The new ship is called the man o’ war which like u said is a bigger and tanker ship with 6 to 8 players and is more powerful as 12 cannons 6 on each side and I think three floors, and pets u said will be coming out with feelings to like timid and vicious and happy and other ones too, rats will be on the ship mostly eating ur bananas and making holes in ur ship which will be annoying but the cat will keep some away, rats also gives diseases and if on another ship that sunk will go to another and will spread
Sea of theives is thankfully on Gold Game Pass, so £6 a month for more than just this game is worth it, however, i'd be disappointed if i paid £50 upfront for currently a skeleton framework of a good game. Looking forward to updates which flesh the game out!
Man when i first saw this game i thought that it will be a loot hoarder and i would love that, the devs don't want other players to be stronger than others, but why, that's what progresion is for, i wanted to siege islands and find treasure, better weapons, upgrade my ship, have a private island, fight bosses, it¨s crazy how much the game missed. The game can be fun no doubt about that, but only with people and even that gets boring because after 10 hrs of gameplay you saw everything in the game.
I reckon they should add in Sirens " the Sirens were dangerous creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island." It would work in the way as if you sailed into the krakens ink spot where it would pause your ship and turn it sailing it into the rocky shores to crash your ship. Expect instead of an ink patch it would be like a misty cloud with faint singing.
Imagine having a empty engineering place on every ship that can hold different gear like...
- a Howitzer Cannon
- a Mortar
- a Diving Bell
- a Magic Thingy that strongens the wind/ makes your ahip faster
- a Cloak or sth that turns your ship to the color of surrounding water
And so on
Underwater content like ancient sunken ruins and shallow reefs
Tameable Pets and new critters ( Crabs, parrots, rabbits, parrots, goats)
Sand writing for a short period of time
Professions (Fishing, Relic Hunter, Cooking-»Ability to make campfires thru wood boards and flint/tinder, Leather gatherer from sharks,pigs, snakes, etc...)
Put status effects on games like hydration and hunger (but do not abuse it..like you have to eat and drink at least once in each 2 days or you will die) Better meals would keep the hunger away for longer time
New enemies and sea monsters (sirens, nagas, vodooish civilization, a sailing enemy faction with onboard treasure that you could obtain by sinking the ship or boarding it and steal it)
More ships and way more cosmetics and costumization
Maybe pirate guilds (with a warp zone for a cove for your guild and stuff)
Collect / unlock new musical sheets
New Weapon types (harpoons, throwable gunpowder bombs, crossbows...)
A slight better chance of loot as you progress in the game
A new faction for casual pvp with bounties (Example: Kill and retreive 3 goldencoins from 3 fallen enemies and win a skin / model for x weapon or ship , etc...)
An option to burry and mark the treasure in a map to come get it later (without logging out)
Chance to find special booze on beaches and coves and ruins that you can store them in your iventory and either can sell them for gold or you can consume them for a special effect like chancws on getting better treasure increased by 15% or share this drink with the weapon seller for 25% discount on the next 2 purchases.
I would also like to see stuff like make your own riddle and hide you own treasure skull relic whatever then send it to to your friend by parrot or post in on the social bar (the thing where you start the game) and anyone can pick it up and try to solve it. If they do it you would also earn a special type of reputation, like social rep where you could unlock and buy new emotes, dances, pirate quotes, special brews to share, fireworks, anything that would be of social aspect
Last thing I would do is place a "job"board on the tavern to recruit sailors. Example: 2 man crew is looking for 2 sailors to level up trading faction. Meet on X Island portside to sign contract at 8pm. And with this change i would balance xp and gold gains.
Solo play: 120% gold and xp from delivers
Duo: 100% "" ""
3 or 4 man crew: 80% ""
Also, it might be a little bit OP, but a flying duchman (lifted in the air either by magic or a crude hot air balloon) would be a really fun addition to Sea of Thieves. I'm thinking of it as a sail upgrade, so nothing would be affected by it other than being lifted into the sky. It would be balanced by the fact that A. The duchman's cannons can't aim down, and B. Maybe if you shot a cannonball at the hot air balloon/magic hull, the flying would be negated after a few hits and the duchman would crash into the sea for a fair fight.
I think that every outpost should have rafts with really crude sails docked... maybe 6 at each outpost. Then, if you wanted to meme, you could take a tiny raft on an adventure across the seas. No map table, no captain's table, just a square raft with a sail and maybe one cannon.
I got an idea.
Maybe they should add something other than skeleons to fight? As baron as Destiny 1 was when it released, it still had 4 different enemy factions and 5 or 6 classes of enemy within those factions. It's baffling thatt they released his game with one enemy type.
They should add tether cannons to the ships right next to the steering wheel that you can harpoon a large animal and let it pull the ship or you could tether another ship if aimed correctly. It should be a one shot to other pirates but have its own rare ammo and take a long time to reload.
That would be cool if they added different types of sharks, the rarest one being a megladon boss kinda like the kraken. It would be cool seeing hammerhead sharks and other types or just other sea animals in general!
And to think...theres assholes out there saying this game was too boring and that people shouldnt buy it. Im SUPER hyped to see what they have planned! Screw those guys who jumped the gun on this game, let them wallow in their Call Of Duty cookie cutter shooters.

The ships will be slightly faster than the gallion and have a single cannon on the bow.
The ship would feature a more rag-tag design and have hanging nets and equipment.
Please please please Rare add trader NPCs that travel between islands with resources and a chance of having chests/skulls/merchant items that you can attack and steal from.
I want to act like a pirate but I feel bad sinking other players when they likely don’t even have anything
I think a good deal of why they pushed to make new content rather than pets and such is the contract with Microsoft for their Game Pass. Microsoft wants people to pay in every month for the Game Pass and one way of doing so is picking their best game and putting new content every month as well as timed events. Win-Win for Rare and Microsoft if they can keep the game going long term before having people pay out for DLC.
I've written a 3800 word rant about this games wasted potential. anyway here are some things they could add more or less quite easily:
Rowboats to deploy from your ship
Private pirate hideouts (Your own pirate cove with a collection of yer treasure)
Swivel guns (small cannons on swivels)
Different kinds of cannonballs (Grapeshot, chain balls, bombs)
The ability to parrley and ally with other crews
Some context for the next one: It should be possible to open the chests, to see the booty contained within. It's a primary pirate fantasy for fucks sake. Gives more mechanics and possibilities to work with as well. (Full preamble below the list)
*More special treasure chests!*
*The Krakens chest* . A surefire way to attract the kraken.
*Davy jones’ locker.* This chest contains the map for a long quest, at its end you’ll face the flying dutchman herself. The endboss of the game, so to speak.
*The whistling chest.* Whistling is usually considered to be bad luck. It is said that to whistle is to challenge the wind itself, and that to do so will bring about a storm. And so it does. The chest begins whistling some time after it’s set down in your ship. It’s only still when carried or hit with a weapon.
*Klabautermanns chest.* Makes Mermaids appear immediately when you go overboard. If you have the chest on board, the Klabautermann becomes visible when you’re near El Amirante’s ship (an AI boss i "created"). Use him as a warning or a guide! When three crewmates join together in musicmaking, the Klabautermann joins in, too. (inspiration: He is a merry and diligent creature, with an expert understanding of most watercraft, and an irrepressible musical talent. He also rescues sailors washed overboard., he also only appears to a doomed ships crew.talent). Turn it in to gain some of the Klabautermanns cosmetics (Yellow coat, tobacco pipe ad woollen sailors cap.) The chest could also improve ship repair speeds or repair them on its own overtime but I don’t want to overpower the positive aspects of this chest.
*Cursed mist chest:* Shortly after bringing it onboard, a dense mist will envelop your ship and you will have to navigate via map and compass only (The ships outline vanishes on the map so you have to navigate without that crutch). Mists chest can be used by experienced sailors to ambush other vessels.
*Will o the wisps chest.* Locks your lanterns in the turned on state. Additionally, if you carry the cursed mist chests as well. Your map vanishes entirely and lights will appear in the distance, tricking you into thinking that there is an outpost out in the mists. Lights only appear for your ship. If you bring both chests to a vendor, you get a chance at a rare unique item. ‘Cause an incentive is needed to carry such dangerous cargo.
*Magnetic chest.* This chest messes with your compasses and ship outline on the map, so it’s harder to navigate.
*Banshees chest.* The banshee haunting this chest does not appreciate jolly music as we do. If you play music while this chest is aboard, the crying banshee will tear holes in your hull and spawn some Skellingtons. Be wary of the whistling chest! If you carry the Banshee and another player nearby plays music, that player is knocked far away, taking damage.
*Chest of the coward.* Shortly after set down in your cargo hold, the ghostly soul of a fearful sailor will set your sails to full, as if to escape some evil stalking him… (could lead into a boss battle)
*Cursed Antique chest.* A curious stone chest containing strange golden coins adorned with skulls. Opening this chest on your ship and taking the gold will curse your ship, continually spawning a single golden Skeleton on your ship until the chest is sold. If only you could contain the skeleton somewhere safe… hmmm. like in a working brig that doesn't just teleport people like in a god damn garry's mod....
*Sharks chest.* This chest will spawn 4 sharks circling around your ship, forcing you to dock well to carry your booty to safety at an outpost.
Secondary use: Gather shark chests to harrass enemy players trying to swim to your ship!

Preramble: Chest mechanics.
Remove the specific name display when looking at a chest. Why? So you don’t know exactly what’s inside and want to take a peek. Also so you don’t know immediately what a cursed chest is gonna do.
We should be able to open treasure chests to see the booty contained within, this is not purely for the satisfying feeling of looking at a treasure chest full of gold, though it is a quintessential part of every pirate adventure for fucks sake. It will also allow you to store trinkets in chests, so you don’t have to run back and forth for every single silver cup. It will come in handy later as well. Normal chests contain Trinkets for the Gold hoarders, cursed chests contain curios for the Order of souls
If we expand on this we could have skeletons spring out of the chest when opened, or water flow out of the crying chest at an accelerated rate.
But why would you open a chest then instead of just selling it without ever looking into it?
For this we will revamp the reward mechanics: If you open a chest, you immediately gain the gold contained within, but any curios (skulls, goods, trinkets and such) have to be brought to the faction vendors. Makes sense especially for the gold hoarders, since they would exchange jewelry for money, while you keep the doubloons you find in the chest. We now have a system where chests have to be opened eventually and it should be vital to know which chests can be opened safely at any given time, More on that in the next paragraph. In addition it’s necessary to define where gold can be collected. I propose this system:
Chests can be opened anywhere, but the gold can only be collected when it is opened in the ship. Gold collected this way can no longer be looted by other crews, but they can still steal the chests for the curios contained within.
But for now let’s work with the two chests we have:
Crying chest: unopened it regularly floods the boat with water, open it and it will fill your ship almost to sinking capacity, so you decide which risk to take. Or if you want to use it to quickly sink an enemy ship but lose the gold. If opened on land it will spawn 6 drowned skellingtons and will continue to replenish them until closed again.
Chest of a thousand grogs: When carried makes carrier very drunk, stops when putting it down. When opened on a ship, makes everyone drunk and refills your grog barrel.
Argedon I like the idea of more unique chests and being able to open them. That would for sure be much better than what I experienced. Who's to say the risk of opening the chest may reward you with more loot then selling it? Like what kind of pirate sells their plunder without even peeking into what might be inside? You want this chest for 500 gold? It has 5,000 worth of jewels inside explain that? I was disappointed that they didn't have harpoons, Bola (chained), or something like grape or scatter shot. That seems quite elementary in my opinion, as well as obvious for a pirate game. Being able to land critical hits on enemy ships, or their sails with a bola would be a game changer. In a chase scenario you could prevent a ship from running and force a fight. Being able to board and sabotage and enemy ship quietly would also add much needed depth to this shell of a game. Destruction in this game is severly lacking imo. It doesn't at all seem realistic enough with all the physics that are already in the game. Life or smaller boats that could be deployed from a large ship should be implemented. In my opinion crews should start with a small ship and work for a bigger one. They should only start with a sword and maybe a flint pistol. Having access to everything right from the start is part of this games problem. There isn't a sense of achievement with unlocking or finding better things to help you on your journey. Character customization is lacking, what I mean by that is you can't pick their eyes, nose, mouth, etc. Why not? Why do most of the female characters look like dudes with tits? Why do you HAVE TO pick a randomized character at all? Some people spend hours making their character's features, it's a complete let down to them and anyone who wants to sculpt their ideal pirate. I had high hopes for this title when Rare was involved, they made games back in the day that I love even now. This isn't like that at all for me. For a price tag of $60? It's obviously over-priced, anyone who says it isn't is lying or delusional.
This is good news! My opinion of the game when asked is "its really good but its shit" I played the alpha and betas of this and times it came out I was bored as it wasn't really any different. Really looking forward to the content coming and getting back into this game.
I be willing to point out matey that in the first telling of the tale of The Flying Dutchman were a tale of a man named "Cap'n Hendrick Van Der Deckon" who made a deal with the devil. Now he can never make port. The Ship itself not be a threat, but it be a symbol of bad luck to any unfortunate fisherman who lays eyes on her. (e.g. Ye might come across a sea monster or hurricane later.)
Davy Jones be a demon with horns, a tail, saucers for eyes, three rows of teeth, and blue smoke poring from his nostrils. He don't own a ship and he lurks the sea bed day and night on the search of sunken sailors to consume. He does have control over every evil spirit of the sea mind ye. Davy Jones Locker is merely another name for the bottom of the sea. (It's his domain)
Two separate tales. (Pirates of the Caribbean be a mixture of the two along with elements of other tales.)
@6:50 it doesn't sound like three big updates to me. It sounds like they'll be taking existing assets, the mermaids, and making enemies out of them; having us run to get more shit to bring back the the outpost like we do already; and adding more fucking skeletons! lmao, this game was such a disappointment, but I hang onto in the hopes that they fix it.

Why celebrate LGBT Pride? The history of oppression for LGBT persons has centered around notions of appropriateness/normality and invisibility. LGBT persons have often lost their families, their friends, their employment and their lives because others have deemed the way they love to be inappropriate or abnormal. Our society has a strong sense of gendered normality: Men do x and women do Y. Indeed, who we are allowed to love has historically been linked to that which is deemed appropriate for our gender. When an individual chooses to live with integrity, as an authenticate person, despite the societal dangers of doing so, they exemplify Pride; that is worthy of celebration. The freedom possessed by todays lgbt students was made possible by the courage and strength of individuals who refused to feel shame for who they were and Who lived authentically and openly, winning straight allies along the way. Instead of lamenting the paucity of role models living authentically when we, as educators, were in school, perhaps we are called to be the role model we wished we had had! Now, and every day, is the time for Pride!

As educators, we know the crucial role played by the thousands of paraprofessionals, office workers, bus drivers, custodians and maintenance staff in our schools and/or Community Colleges. In fact, it would be difficult to imagine a school going for one day without ESPs.
When we talk about strengthening our schools, we need to strengthen everyone who works within them. Along with recruiting and retaining quality teachers, we must recruit and retain quality education support professionals. To do that, it certainly means providing decent wages and benefits to the people who spend their days making sure our students are safe, well fed and learning.
